Week of 10/28-11/1
Reminders and notes:
Thursday is a minimum day for Halloween. School will end at 12:15 and Eagle’s Nest will be open. If your child is going to Eagle’s Nest please send them with a lunch as there will be no Choice Lunch.
Friday is a mass day for All Saint’s Day. Please send your child in full uniform and not P.E. uniform. Mass will be at 10:30 am.
Next week will be conferences from Wednesday, 11/6- Friday, 11/8 and each of those days will be a minimum day. Please sign up for a conference time if you have not already.
Superkids: Reading, Writing, and Phonics
We will be meeting a new Superkid, Sal, for the letter Ss. We will continue to work in small groups to practice our literacy, phonics, and letter writing for Aa, Oo, Cc, and Gg. We have also started working on our decoding and blending skills, which is the beginning of learning how to read! The students are very excited to start learning these skills.
Math:
We will continue working on our chapter for GoMath on comparing numbers 1-5 while continuing to work on numbers 0-20 in small groups. We will also continue to practice our counting, number recognition, and writing.
Science:
Since it is October we will continue exploring pumpkins. We have been watching our pumpkin seeds to see if they will grow. We will continue to also tie it in to literacy and math as well. We will continue graphing sunny vs cloudy days for October as the students have been excited to do so.
Religion:
We will be finishing up with Family Life this week with the final gift of God’s gift of community Please remember to be working on the home connection with your child. Let me know if you have any questions about it.
Show and tell:
Please have your child bring something in that begins with the letter s. I will continue going in alphabetical order with one student per day.
