What a night to remember. St. Michael School hosted its 59th Annual Wine Tasting Gala & Auction --“Paradise in the Vineyards,” on Saturday, March 3rd. 2018 at the Robert Livermore Community Center. The evening was filled with great food and wonderful local wines as our families and the community came together to socialize while supporting the biggest fundraising event of the year.
Stephanie Lemoine and Caryn Meissner (Co-Chairs) with the support of Vanessa Gallo and many others did an amazing job at bringing this event together. On behalf of all in attendance, "Thank you for making it such a wonderful night for all of us! Your efforts are truly appreciated."
Throughout the night there were many opportunities for the attendees to support and win fantastic prizes generously donated by local businesses, parishioners, and SMS families alike. From Wine Pull, Heads-Or-Tails, Lucky 7's, to the Silent and Live Auctions everyone had an opportunity to take home something very special.
The winners of the online raffle were the Quartaroli Family who secured 1st place of $1,000, Ria Encarnacion is the 2nd place winner with a $500 prize, and Raimey Wiggen wins the 3rd place prize of $250. Total funds raised off the online raffle came to $7,192. Thank you to all of the families who either purchased or sold raffle tickets. All of our students will be enjoying an extra recess time in the near future since we surpassed the $5,000 mark. Two of our students were tremendous supporters of our raffle. Each student brought in just over $1,000. Congratulations to Ceanna, a Kindergartener, and Gianna, an 8th grader, for each winning free dress every Thursday for the remainder of the school year! Way to go! Thank you for showing your tremendous Eagle Spirit!
A sincere thank you to Caryn Meissner for her beautiful rendition of Amazing Grace and heartfelt speech. Caryn truly touched the hearts of many in attendance. Jaws dropped and the room fell silent as Caryn began to sing and by the end, Caryn had many in tears at such a beautiful touching speech. It truly helped remind us of what is most important for our future...our children's education.
The Fund-A-Need, which took place the night of the event exceeded our goal and raised $21,200. Additional donations keep coming in, so the final total increases. These funds will help support the development of our underutilized TECH room into a 21st-century STREAM classroom geared to better serve our students. New furniture, carpet, and a multipurpose sink will be purchased and installed over the summer months.
The final tally on all the proceeds are still being calculated, but from the initial assessment, the school will be the big winner of the evening.
