Our plan is to teach age appropriate technological skills as the students
progress from kindergarten on through to the eighth grade; to incorporate
technology into our classrooms with greater efficiency; and to make
the necessary connection to the curriculum as students face the challenges
of an ever-evolving technological world. Technology helps to encourage
teamwork, empathy, understanding, citizenship, and the ability to listen
and communicate.
Our mission is to expand the educational environment where technology
is integrated transparently into all areas of the educational experience
at Saint Michael School; to use information technology to educate our
students in a Catholic Education environment that will spread the message
of worship, service, and community; to help our students develop appropriate
information and technology literacy; and to provide our students with
a good educational foundation that will produce further learning.
The primary goal of the Technology Coordinator under the direction of the principal is to assist teachers in planning technology curriculum integration, helping students to meet our technology standards as outlined by the Diocese of Oakland and to provide support when needed as our teachers work toward integrating technology into the core curriculum.
The technology coordinator also works as a support
and mentor to the classroom teachers, providing resources so technology
can be used as a tool for enhancing learning.
